Two Members of Parliament (MP) from the Minority have officially petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), invoking its mandate to investigate the gross human rights violation in the 2020 general elections.

The complainants, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah, MP for North Tongu, and Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle, premised their petition on the manner in which the Ghana Police Service (GPS) and Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) discharged their constitutional and statutory mandates in the general elections.

The complainants restricted the Commission’s investigations to South Techiman, Odododiodio, Central Ablekuma and Savelugu constituencies in the East Bono, Greater Accra and Northern Regions.

The instant complaint is lodged by Cosmos Anpengnuo Esq. of Messrs. Bayong Law Consult.

The complainants, to cement their petition, attached medical reports and visual evidences they gathered from some television stations that captured the gross human rights violations at the ‘hotspots’ in their petition.

Below is the full petition as filed by the two MPs:
