The Member of Parliament (MP) for West Ho, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah has described the Akufo-Addo government as a substandard one for his style governance.
Mr Bedzrah said his description of the government is premised on the Akufo-Addo and his government’s careless abandoning of most infrastructural developments inherited from the Mahama-led government, he, Nana Addo and his party, then in opposition, described as an incompetent government.
“This is a government that inherited several good developmental projects from the NDC and Mahama in 2017. But, little or no attention has been paid to the projects most of which have been left to rot. These were projects the NDC and Mahama invested the taxpayers’ into”.
“At every corner of the country, one can see two or three projects this government has irresponsibly left to rot because John Mahama started them, and you say I should not describe this government as a substandard one with President Akufo-Addo as the captain?” Mr Bedzra quizzed on Ahotor FM, Thursday, when he was hosted by the station on its political show.
Whereas the NDC and Mahama invested in the people to change their lives, he said “this government only thinks of its pocket so it is consuming every loan it takes for developments.”
He said it is only a substandard government that would neglect and a abandon projects in some regions because of their voting pattern.
“Come to the Volta Region where you will count many abandoned road projects which the John Mahama-administration started. I am struggling to believe the neglect is as a result of the region’s voting pattern, but if it is, then, I will continue to maintain that this is a substandard government,” the MP noted.
On the botched Sputnik-V transaction between the Government of Ghana and Al Maktoum and SL Global, the MP stated, he strongly supports calls for the resignation of the Health Minister and be hauled to the necessary quarters for him to face his negligence in breaching the procurement act in the botch scandal.
Albeit Al Matkoum is believed to have refunded the money to the Government of Ghana, Mr Bedzra said that does still not make Kwaku Agyemang-Manu free from breaking the laws of the Republic of Ghana, hence, the reason for him to be punished for purjery.
What surprises him more, he reiterated is the ‘shameful’ support the sector Minister is enjoying from President Akufo-Addo and Ken Ofori-Atta, Finance Minister, for “his smartness in trying to make Ghana lose that much in such a shady deal”.
