Report emerged yesterday that thieves went to the Nima Police Station and made away with their television, laptops and air condition.
Further checks have revealed that they did not only steal the above items but broke into the armory and made away with ammunition which they prefer to capture under ‘other items that cannot be disclosed’.
Even though it instigated laughter, this is not funny.
Nima Police Station is just about 50 meters away from our Presidents House, it is the first house after the police station.
When there is an attack on our President in his house, the very first point of call for an intervention is going to be Nima Police Station.
Someone can stand at the police station and throw a bomb into the house of the president. For thieves to be able to break in and make away with all that they are said to have, then our President is not safe and hence his security details have to sit up.
Even if a police station has no door or wodow, thieves should not be able to enter and steal, that points to how exposed everyone is in this country, even the President isn’t an exception.
We have to make it mandatory for everyone who becomes President to move to the Flagstaf House for maximum security. This practice of using state funds to fix the president’s home when there is an official residence with greater protection available should be stopped
We also have to look at these party boys who are grafted into the national security after elections, given some training and deployed to the president’s house. If properly trained police are getting robbed, how safe is the President.
There are many of such in the President’s residence, I know some of them. We need proper security minds. With proper security for our President, even in the negligence of the police (who should be ashamed), they should have have noticed it in view of the proximity.
This is just a warning that the worst could happen.
Security for for president should extend beyond that radius
