Even as we drag the issue of $1m to cause bruises on the NPP, it is important to ponder over the propriety or otherwise of keeping Househelps and grant them unfetted access to your “security zone” in your house.
I am worried because we the NDC will surely occupy the same office, come 2025.
May God forbid that, such a calamity befalls any NDC member even though it is a misfortune that could befall anybody, so long as he or she wants to be generous by giving the Househelp an unfetted access to his or her “safe haven” in the house.
I heard the husband of Madam Cecilia Dapaah nearly committed suicide a few days ago. The woman and her child have been in a deadly trauma ever since the issue became public. But did she not anticipate this implication when she took the decision to report the case?
What a disaster! It begs the question;
1. . Is it proper to hire the services of a Househlp as a political Office holder?
2. If we must engage a Househelp, what category of persons must we consider engaging as Househelps?
3. Does it pay to give absolute and unfetted access to all rooms to your Househelp?
If one suggests a family member, it calls to memory the scenario under NDC government in which a Driver blackmailed his cousin deputy minister, Miss Victoria Hamah, as a result of which she lost her lifetime dream of acquiring a $1m as a Deputy Minister.
This means, if you are a political figure, you need to be very very careful. You can’t live a care-free life as an ordinary person does.
In a dispassionate evaluation of the incidence one can only sympathize with Madam Cecilia Dapaah for falling a victim of intended generousity to a Househelp.
This is not only a disaster on the Dapaah family, but a good lesson to our political leaders to learn.
Just like the case of sexual blackmail. Some of these blackmailers take advantage of the high moral standards required of a politician and unleash their tricks to make money. If you are a politician, it is important to choose your “partners” very strategically.
A woman who has nothing to treasure doesn’t care to sell her nudity to blackmail a politician to get a Range Rover vehicle.
Now I heard Madam Cecilia Dapaah has resigned. I can only wish her Gods strength as she confronts another stretch of her life, unexpected. Thank you!
