The Impudence Of Hawa Koomson Is Making NPP Unattractive – Party Folks

Social Media users, especially on the various New Patriotic Party NPP platforms have accused the Minister of Fisheries and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East constituency Mavis Hawa Koomson of making the party unpopular.

According to them, the behavior of the MP in her constituency is uncalled for and will have serious negative impression about the NPP especially for first time voters who may see the party as violent and hooligans.

They stated that the party is made up of people with good behavior, law abiding and bravery adding the Hon. Hawa Koomson lack what it takes to be at front line of the party.

Members of the NPP on social media were commenting on recent attack on a Journalist during the vetting of Parliamentary Candidates at the Central Regional Coordinating Council in Cape Coast.

The question is when will Hon. Hon. Hawa Koomson accept her mistakes and change to be a law abiding Patriot and stop responding to issues that she orchestrated. One commentator queried.

They have therefore called on the party hierarchy to call her to order to save the party from loosing its popularity in the Central Region.

They recalled series of attacks orchestrated by the MP urging her to put a stop to acts as her character is sinking the NPP.

However, Hon. Hawa Koomson has denied allegations linking her to the reported assault on David Kobina, a journalist with Cape FM which occurred during the vetting process for parliamentary aspirants at the Central Regional Coordinating Council in Cape Coast.

In a statement, the MP labelled the allegations as baseless and intentionally fabricated by her opponents to tarnish her reputation and gain political advantage.

She rejected the allegations and urged the respective stakeholders to refrain from making premature judgments and to allow thorough investigations into the allegations.

“We categorically reject the claim that individuals associated with our team were responsible for this regrettable act. Mavis Hawa Koomson has consistently advocated for a peaceful and constructive political environment, and our team does not endorse or engage in any form of violence.

We call on the Ghana Journalists Association and all stakeholders to allow the investigative process to unfold and refrain from premature judgments.

Our thoughts remain with Mr. Kwabena, and we hope for his way to recovery.” The statement concluded.
