The Chiefs and Peoples of Ave celebrates Ave-Bliza

The Chiefs and people of the Ave traditional  Areas celebrated their annual Ave-Bliza festival over the weekend to climax a week long Easter period.

The annual festival which is anchored on maize cultivation and the [ads1]economic importance of corn took place at Ave-Dzadzepe on Saturday. Indeed, Ave becomes very colourful every Easter period and this year was nothing different.

Ave Bliza is celebrated on a rotational basis among the six traditional areas namely; Ave-Dakpa, Ave-Afiadenyigba, Ave-Havi, Ave-Dzadzepe, Ave-Dzalele, Ave-Tagba (Xevi).

The period is stuffed with a lot of activities, an increased human population as people traveled from near and far to take part in the activities.

As part of this year’s celebration, the Ave Crocodile Resort was opened to tourist.

There were cultural displays and traditional drumming across the streets of Ave.

On Thursday and Friday, there was a community gala played at the Ave-Senior High School park, which Fiave-Sanyi toppled Ave-Dzalele in the finals on penalty shoot-outs to become the 2018 champions.
