A combined team of police and military personnel have supervised the razing of three buildings, being the property of Prophet Stephen Amankwah, founder of Promiseland Prayer Fellowship, at Solomon City, a suburb of Santoe in the West Tema Municipality.
The three of five concrete structures situated on a one-quarter plot of land were at various stages of completion when some taskforce from the TDC Limited, with armed protection from the combined state security personnel, left them in debris.
While the TDC Limited said the three demolished buildings had encroached into another person’s land, thus, serving countless cautions to the developer to stay within his land space, the victim, on the other hand, maintained that, that land in contention was part of the one-quarter plot of land he genuinely acquired from the chief of Santoe in 2012.
Prophet Amankwah said he had sought building permits and all construction documents from the TDC Limited except a regularisation permit which he delayed in acquiring.
“On the day I went to the TDC to apply for regularisation, the taskforce, in the company of the joint security personnel, went to the site to destroy my years of toil to put up a place to lay my head and stores. TDC Limited has caused me a severe pain, in fact,” Prophet Amankwah cried.
He claimed a person close to the President has snatched his land from him.
Additionally, he claimed the relation of Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister, at the TDC, authorised the demolition of his property.
But Ian Okwei, Protocol Officer of the TDC Limited, told the Awake News reporter on the telephone that, Prophet Amankwah needs to go to the Lands Commission to establish the owner of the land in contention.
“The TDC Limited did not err in the exercise it undertook,” Mr Okwei defended.
