Team Bawumia attempted to bribe me to become his vice – Kennedy Agyapong alleges

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, has alleged that the campaign team of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made the move to grease his palms to accept an offer to become his running mate but rejected the offer.

He stressed that Dr. Bawumia is forcefully engaging in a foul political play that has the tendency of destroying the party.

Mr. Agyapong made these wild allegations at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi in the Ashanti region after a march organized by his ardent supporters dubbed “A Showdown Walk.”

Mr. Agyapong, who is seeking to lead the NPP in the upcoming 2024 polls, reiterated that the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, and his team were intimidating party members who were not his supporters, which is against the principles of the party.

The “Showdown Walk” Indigenes in the Ashanti region thronged the principal streets of Kumasi to march to show their unflinching support for the NPP presidential hopeful, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong.

The majority of people who joined the walk expressed worry over the current economic challenges in the country under the watch of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led NPP government as their main reason for throwing their weight behind the Assin Central Member of Parliament.

The majority of NPP sympathizers also disclosed that they strongly believe Kennedy Agyapong is the only candidate in the presidential race who can help the party break the eight-year jinx come 2024.
