Teachers, Workers Awarded at Tema Municipality

The Tema Municipal Chief Executive, Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La has noted that the Assembly through its international partnership has initiated an exchange programme for teachers in Tema. This is to appreciate the relentless contributions of teachers towards nation building.

Speaking at the 2016/2017 Best Teachers Awards ceremony for teachers [ads1]within the metropolis, He entreated all teachers to continue to work hard to achieve the goals and objectives of the free Senior High School policy.

He noted that although some schools have issues of space and furniture, the Assembly is taking every necessary step to augment the stock of furniture and other logistical needs.

The Awards, organized by The Tema Metropolitan Directorate of Education is to appreciate hard working teachers and workers at the first and second cycle schools within the metropolis. The awards aimed at motivating other teachers to work harder and focuses on the theme, “equipping the teacher for good quality education delivery.”

The Tema Director of Education Mrs. Margaret Nsiah-Asamoah encouraged all teachers to work hard to serve as a motivation for others to emulate since best teachers comes with greater responsibilities. She appealed to the assembly to as well help provide the necessary teaching tools for quality education.

An awardee Tetteh Abraham Ahumah who was adjudged First in Non-Teaching Category charged other colleagues particular teachers not to limit their duties only in the classrooms but to every section in the school. He expressed gratitude to the organizers.

In all, 56 teachers and workers were awarded home appliances.
