Tano South race: Hanna Bissiw tomenting Ahafo Deputy Minister

As the December 7 polls draw closer, Tano South in the Ahafo Region is the place to watch in the 2020 elections as it is a contest between a vibrant National Women Organizer of the largest opposition NDC, Hon. Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw who happens to be a former MP  and Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere – an incumbent Member of Parliament of the ruling NPP.

The presence of Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw in the race has changed the electoral dynamics with a more people-centred approach, feminine touch and motherly love shown by the very passionate Hanna has caused fear and panic in the camp of the sitting MP who coincidentally is the Deputy Regional Minister for the Ahafo Region, the wealthiest region in Ghana. A region of timber, gold, cocoa and plantain.

The desperation has resulted in a sudden social intervention program initiated by the MP. He suddenly sees the need to give GHC 20,000 to private school teachers to cushion them post-Covid-19 when the Central government has neglected these teachers.

The People’s Manifesto of the NDC has suddenly become the Bible of the NPP MP as he has paid for 1000 apprentice.

In an election year where he has neglected the needs of the people and Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw is making great inroads into the constituency, touching the hearts of voters, preaching the good news of John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, the people of Tano South are assured of bringing back the NDC.

In my next write up, I’ll do an analysis of the infrastructural record of both candidates.
