The youth activists in the Volta region dubbed itself “Volta region for NDC Veep Now” is calling on leaderships of the NDC Party including the founder H.E Ft Lt Jerry John Rawlings to switch to Volta Region and pick the running mate from the region.
According to the youth,that is the best way to restore the core values of the party and confidence of the people within the region.
They have also added that,Volta region continues to remain the stronghold of the party since former President Rawlings reign but can not boast of anything solid to point out in each Constituency as well as the region for the mass of voters after former President Rawlings governance.
They have added that,this is the time Volta Region must be rewarded for showing their long term loyalty and commitment to the party since 1992 because other regions are also aware of Volta Region commitment towards the NDC party and that is undisputable fact.
They have sighted the Volta Regional and District Hospitals being built by former President Rawlings are the only projects mass of voters are enjoying and apart from that,no other social or socio-economic projects within the region as well as each constituency for the mass of voters to be proud of in order to transform their daily life.
According to them,if the party leaderships want NDC party to be in power for long after H.E John Dramani Manama, then this is the time for them to switch to Volta region and pick the NDC running from the region in order to restore the core values,hope and confidence of the people within and outside the region.
The youth activists are the therefore appealing to the founder of the party to remain strong, bold ,committed ,dedicated and loyal to the party always in order to restore the core values of the party at this crucial decision making time by picking the running from the region to show appreciation to him as he has sacrificed and toiled himself in the past just for the benefit of people within this Mother Ghana.
A member of his group whose name withheld for a reason, reveals that,when Volta Region is being considered this time as running mate, it would help the party to go back to former President Rawlings olden days in order to restore the confidence and hope of the party members from the region as well as other regions in order to harvest more votes to the party.
He sighted that,the records of massive votes turn out are there across the country when a member of Volta region was picked to be a Flagberear of the party from 1992 to 2000.
He therefore appealing to leaderships to consider Volta region as running mate this time to show appreciation ,respect to the founder H.E Ft Lt Jerry John Rawlings and also restore the confidence and hope of party members within and outside the region.
He further appeals to all party elders from the Volta Region to be united,focus and really behind and support a decision like this for the benefit of the party and voters.
He also caution party elders from the region to put individual interest aside and think of the party first in decision making process.
