Nana Boakye

The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) has described as blatant lies and cheap propaganda, allegations by the minority in parliament that the Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie a.k.a Sir John is in involved in illegal mining activities and has admonished Sir John to go to court to expose the minority’s ill-conceived agenda.

Addressing the press on Tuesday, the Minority spokesperson on Mines and Energy, Adams Mutawakilu alleged that Sir John and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, a.k.a Wontumi, are deeply involved in galamsey in Jacobu in the Ashanti Region without exhibiting a single shred of evidence

Speaking to peacefmonline.com, Nana B asserted that the claims by the Minority were outright falsehood and a only a grand scheme to demonize government appointees and cause dissatisfaction for the government. He mentioned that the ongoing reclamation exercise by Forestry Commission has been a huge success so far and no amount of these fabricated stories will derail the quest of the NPP government to protect the environment and ameliorate the dire repercussions of illegal mining activities (galamsey).

He charged the media to continue coverage of the ongoing reclamation exercise and educate the public on the huge gains made so far in order to dispel the misinformation from the minority.

“Sir John has demonstrated great competence and impeccable service with integrity since he assumed the office of CEO of Forestry Commission. Today, over 25,000 able youth of this country have been employed by the Forestry Commission under the stewardship of Sir John. We must not look on for some detractors to derail the gains he has made so far”. Nana B mentioned.

He charged Sir John and Wontumi to seek redress in court over the lies the Minority were churning out.
