The government has acted to protect our citizens from the threat of COVID-19. I commend them for that. I also applaud business, civil organisations and faith leaders for their support. If called upon, we will work selflessly with the government. But we will also be the voice of the people, and will continue to question the government’s response to the COVID-19 emergency on their behalf.

1. What is the ‘worst-case scenario’ plan to boost the capacity of our hospitals and clinics?

2. How will you ensure that our health workers have the correct Personal Protective Equipment?

3. What additional measures will be put in place to protect the livelihoods of Ghanaians?

4. Testing is slow, and limited to Accra and Kumasi*. What is the plan to speed it up and to make it more widely available?

5. Ventilators – how will you procure adequate numbers?

6. When will the COVID-19 public awareness campaign be intensified?

7. What is the plan to exit the lockdown? *As of Wednesday 8th April only 14,611 actual tests had been done from a total of 37,405 samples taken. Only 5,472 samples were taken in Kumasi. This is inadequate.
