Information reaching Awake News indicates that, a convoy of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has been involved in an accident at Juaso, Asante Akyem South Municipality, off Accra-Kumasi Highway in the early hours of Friday, August 6.
The Advance team which was on its way to Wa to await the arrival of the Speaker was allegedly run into by a Nissan Sentra vehicle with registration number GT 2173-21 at Konongo leading to the death of the disptach rider, Chief Inspector Kaakyire Abednego.
According to an eye witness, the driver of the long vehicle with registration number GR 6397 X, upon seeing the convoy decided to pave way for them but unfortunately, there was a Private car on top speed trying to overtake him which resulted in the death of the dispatch rider.
The Speaker, Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin was not affected.
The body of the police escort has been transferred from the Juaso Government Hospital to Accra.
