Soldiers turn errand boys: why generalizing issues under the civilian dictator – Kotoko blasts Prof. Gyampo

Prof. Gyampo, Elikem Kotoko and Akufo-Addo

A member of the National Communication Team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elikem Kotoko has taken on Prof. Ransford Gyampo over what he described as a generalization of issues under President Akufo-Addo instead of speaking directly to power of the wrongs.

Mr. Kotoko was commenting on news reports in which Prof. Gyampo was quoted to have said that “it is shameful for soldiers to turn into errand boys carrying bags of private lawyers”.

The reports which should have welcomed that the Political scientists had spoken to views of many, for Elikem, such generations of issues and shifting the goal post makes nothing more than rising tempers.

According to him, if the said issue of soldier turning into an errand boy for a president’s private lawyer under the erstwhile John Mahama administration, Prof. Gyampo would have been bold “enough to confront” John Mahama and call him out as a sitting president.”

“Flip the coin, it happens under the civilian dictator, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and it is generalized to mean POLITICIANS, such heightened hypocrisy” – He fires

“Who is the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Force?. Under whose government is the military being used as security for Ghana’s EC Chair?” – Elikem quizzed

Last week’s Election Petition hearing saw an Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces carrying the bag of President Akufo-Addo’s lawyer, Mr. Frank Davies amid heavily armed military protection for the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa.

Social media was set on fire over the picture forcing the lawyer to carry his own bags the following day.

HEADLINES of this nature makes my temper rise. If any such thing had occurred under John Dramani Mahama, this same Ransford Gyampo will be bold enough to “confront” JM and call him out as a sitting president.

Flip the coin, it happens under the civilian dictator, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and it is generalized to mean POLITICIANS, such heightened hypocrisy

1. Who is currently the president of Ghana?

2. Who is the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Force

3. Under whose government is the military being used as security for Ghana’s EC Chair?

4. Under whose presidency is the military being used to provide security for Frank Davies, a private legal practitioner?

a) further making the assigned security (military) detail be Frank Davies’ bag handler?

5. Has the shameless Military issued any press release on that conduct yet?

Your answer to the above should tell you how some citizens have chosen the side of hypocrisy and cowardice.

Politicians are NOT using soldiers as errand boys, Nana Addo and his NPP government are, period.
