The Auditor-General, Daniel Yao Domelevo has returned to work today, 3rd March 2021 after his 167 days mandatory leave from the presidency.
Mr. Domelevo who is in the office today beaming with smiles though in a noise mask took a selfie to celebrate his resumption of work as an anti-corruption crusader.
The embattled Auditor General, nationality, and retirement age is being challenged by the Audit Service Board, after he completed the by force leave, the Board is relying on some anomalies it unearthed from Domelevo’s SSNIT to argue that he is not a Ghanaian and even more he is due for retirement.
Mr. Domelevo explained that with regards to his date of birth, the 1960 date of birth was a mistake when he checked his information in the baptismal register of the Catholic Church in Adeemmra. “The register has Yaw as part of my name and also provides my date of birth as 1st June 1961 – this corresponds with Thursday or Yaw- the day of the week on which I was born.”
