Dr. Nyarkotey was reacting to a news report in which Dr. Yankson was quoted to have said he does not endorse the use of herbal medicine and concoctions to treat coronavirus.

In a Facebook post sighted by Awake News, the Holistic Medical professor has hit hard at Dr. Yakson reminding him that “Ghana is a nation of pluralist Medicine and no one holds Monopoly on treatment.”

Dr. Nyarkotey thus challenged the GMA General Secretary for a national debate what he [Dr, Nyarkotey] discribes as Dr. Yankson’s “ignorance” on holistic health.

“Someone should tell him to meet me one-on-one on national platform to debate his ignorance on holistic health.. ..When u have no idea on a particular subject, just keep your mouth shut and let the experts in that field do the talking.” – Dr. Nyarkotey fumes.

The seemingly angry Dr. Nyarkotey said “As we speak , the Centre for Plants Medicine, Mampong, is researching into natural remedies for covid 19 and you [Dr. Yankson] hear talking thrush”

Dr. Nyarkotey has since referred Dr. Yankson “read the Ghana Health Service Charter on Patients rights” which “stated clearly that, patients have rights on alternative medicine if it would improve on the quality of life of the patient”

“As it stands, our death rates skyrocketing and no treatment found in the conventional sector; yet, you discouraging others and government efforts to tackle the disease.”
