The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, caused a stir on Saturday, August 10, 2024, when he took his campaign activities to the Avaloe Ajomoro Gwira constituency office of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nkroful, Western Region.
He was accompanied by the NPP’s Western Regional organizer, Yaw Amoabeng Acheampong, on the campaign adventure.
“We are campaigning everywhere, myself and the NPP’s Western Regional Organiser stopped at the NDC party office in Evalue Ajomoro Gwira constituency office to campaign,” Mr. Boakye wrote on social media.
The National Organizer also claimed that some executives they met at the NDC office confided in them that the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Kofi Arko Nokoe, is nowhere near former NPP MP, Hon. Catherine Afeku, in terms of development.
Mr. Boakye also mentioned that the NDC executives expressed concerns about their MP’s invisibility on the floor of Parliament during debates or discussions on matters of national interest.
He wrote; “Interestingly, the NDC Executives expressed their dissatisfaction in their own MP. They attested and confirmed to the fact that Hon. Catherine Afeku really brought development to their constituency as compared to the current NDC MP.
“They also raised concerns of not hearing from their MP’s voice in parliament and that when they asked him, he said there is a pillar structure positioned infront of his seat so he doesn’t catch the eye of the speaker when he raises his hand, interesting.”
