Shameful: Your 64 cabinet meetings cost taxpayers GHc30m with no result – Efo Worlanyo to Nana

The Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Efo Worlanyo Tsekpe has descended on President Akuffo-Addo saying his spends GHc9,800 on each cabinet meeting yet has nothing to show.

“Today, under Nana Addo all ministers, party officials and Presidential staffers who attend cabinet meeting take home 9,800 Ghana cedis per head and per day as a sitting allowance. This excludes their fuel, accommodation, and feeding.” – He said in a Facebook post sighted by Awake News.

Efo Worlanyo was reacting to Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who said that President Akufo-Addo in just 3 years in office has so far held 64 cabinet meetings which he said is a sign of the President’s deep involvement in the running of his government adding that Nana Akufo-Addo has “got his eye on the ball.”

He described as shameful the fact that the government will bost of the number of meetings held to suggest that is what makes them better managers of the economy than the previous NDC government which had only 49 cabinet meets in 4years.

Speaking to Awake News, Efo Worloarnyo said approximately, the government has about 45 people who attend cabinet meetings on average making the taxpayer cough close to GHc30million with the result as compared to former President John Mahama who had 49 cabinet meets but has great and tangible achievements to show. He accused the government of calling cabinet meets only to enrich themselves.

“In Ghana under NPP, the government calls for cabinet meetings the enrich themselves at the expense of the poor taxpayer.”

“Yes JM had 47 cabinet meeting which cost the people of Ghana less but we had results like stable power, good roads, hospitals, 123 senior High Schools, Free fertilizer and other inputs for our farmers, massive housing PROJECTS, massive water projects across the country and projects that can be felt in every community and village in Ghana. These are the essence of attending cabinet meetings, to discuss how every community will feel the presence of their government.”

NANA ADDO’S 64 CABINET MEETINGS, A FRUITLESS COST TO THE TAXPAYER.

64 cabinet meeting without a single result is a shame on the government. I was surprised yesterday when the information minister was touting that as an achievement.

Yes JM had 47 cabinet meeting which cost the people of Ghana less but we had results like stable power, good roads, hospitals, 123 senior High Schools, Free fertilizer and other inputs for our farmers, massive housing PROJECTS, massive water projects across the country and projects that can be felt in every community and village in Ghana. These are the essence of attending cabinet meetings, to discuss how every community will feel the presence of their government.

In Ghana under NPP, the government calls for cabinet meetings the enrich themselves at the expense of the poor taxpayer.

Today, under Nana Addo all ministers, party officials and Presidential staffers who attend cabinet meetings take home 9,800 Ghana cedis per head and per day as a sitting allowance. This excludes their fuel, accommodation, and feeding.

These meetings could not stop Ghanaian from crying of hardship.

These meetings could not reduce tariffs to give comfort to the people of Ghana.

These meetings could not give jobs to our Youth who trusted this government in 2016 and gave all they have to support them.

These meetings couldn’t pay DKM, God is Love, care for humanity etc customer in the Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions.

These meetings couldn’t arrest our cedis.

These meetings rather reduced the price of cashew from 900Ghana cedis under JM to 120 Ghana under those who held 64 cabinet meetings.

These meetings rather resulted in clearing corrupt government officials and reposition them in government.

These meetings resulted in massive borrowing and sharing the monies among themselves.

These meetings resulted in closure of banks and massive job losses which has increased our unemployment rate.

These meetings are fruitless, unprofitable and its only beneficial to Nana Addo and his families and friends.
