Ghanaian female News anchor, Serwaa Amihere has dragged her alleged ex-lover, Henry Fitz to court for allegedly releasing their bedroom photos.
In a writ filed at the Dansoman District Court on Monday, April 8, 2024, Serwaa Amihere fingered the three; Edem Saviour Ketti, a filmmaker, Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, a trader and Henry Amponsah @ Henry Fitz for blackmail and extortion.
According to the writ, the trio demanded money from her using her intimate photos with the latter as leverage to blackmail her. The female broadcaster was allegedly asked on December 3, 2023 to pay GH¢5,000.00.
Also on April 2, 2024, Serwaa Amihere was again asked to pay GH¢20,000.00. She was told if she fails to pay they would “distribute her prohibited visual recording on the social media handles.” However, after taking GHS20,000.000 from her they accused persons still went ahead to release the nudes.
They are charged with four counts including one count of “conspiracy to commit crime, namely non-consensual sharing of intimate image contrary to section 23 (1) of the Criminal offenses Act 1960 (Act 29) and section 67 (1) (2) of Cybersecurity Act 2020 Act 1038.”
According to the brief of the case, Serwaa Amihere’s makeup artist, called to informed her that someone had texted her demanding an amount of GH25.000.00 with the pretext that he had the complainant’s nude pictures.
The said amount should be sent to the MTN mobile money account mumber 0558247205, which bears the name Edem Saviour Ketti. On the 2nd of April 2024, another MTN number, 0555252660, called and demanded an amount of GH 20.000.00 to be sent within a minute, or else he would post the nude videos of the complainant, and be succeeded in taking the ransom still went ahead and posted the nude pictures of the complainant on social media handles.
On the 3rd of April 2024, the complainant filed a complaint with the police, and upon surveillance mounted, Al was arrested at his hideout at Dzorwulu.
During investigations, he admitted to having used his Ghana Card to register the said MTN mobile money account number 0558247205, and gave same to A2 which she subsequently gave same number to A3 and since he has been using the said number till date. Efforts are underway to apprehend A3 to face the law. The case is under investigation.
