SAWBO-LAUREATE empowers hundreds of entrepreneurs with 21st-century skills

A seminar at the University of Ghana, Legon, was conducted by the “SAWBO-LAUREATE” project in association with partners with the goal of changing the perspective of Ghanaian entrepreneurs and fostering community development.

The seminar, which had the title “21st Century Skills for 21st Jobs,” gave out computers to prospective business owners from the Laureate project. The laptops are designed to provide intensive training in the development of computer literacy skills for community development.

Professor James Owusu, CEO of Leyden Educational Consultancy in Ghana, emphasized the importance of encouraging young people to develop their business skills.

The donated laptops will provide recipients with computer literacy skills, allowing them to have a positive impact in their communities.

The Laureate program focuses on job creation, skill development, and leadership by providing computers and targeted training. Professor Owusu emphasized the importance of educational institutions producing graduates who can solve social problems and promote economic development.

The conference, which is funded by the US and the UK, aims to close the skills gap in the TVET sector by providing useful training for youth empowerment.

Participants praised the program’s impact, which emphasized entrepreneurship, community development, and applying theoretical knowledge in real-world situations.

Participants emphasized the importance of holding regular training sessions to provide youths with technical advancements and skills, lowering unemployment in local communities, as the “SAWBO-LAUREATE” project promotes ongoing professional development.
