The election was held but later Senior Baba Raila Odinga went to court and 26th October was agreed upon by the court for the fresh election to be held.
Interestingly, 26th October was also the 56th birthday for Uhuru [ads1]Kenyatta who won the second leg of the disputed election with over 95%.
Indeed, It was an opportunity for Raila Odinga to graciously to give Kenyatta a birthday gift.
I, therefore, wish to congratulate the leadership of Brong Ahafo NDC for their decision to postponed the unity walk slated for 30th December 2017 to Saturday 6th January 2018 because of the 31st December Anniversary which later gave birth to the NDC.
I am happy with the timely decision to give reverence to such a sacred and very important date in the history of our party by our regional executives.
This clearly shows how Brong Ahafo really chercherishes reverence the history of our beloved party.
Postponing the date will as well enrich our preparation towards the unity walk to make it one of the best organized in the country.
Postponing the date to 6th January is also very significant because it will give we the citizenry the opportunity to access the incompetency of the substandard and over bloated NPP government after exactly a year we handed over the stewardship of the country to them.
It will also be the best time for the people of Brong Ahafo to remind the NPP government that we are still waiting for our investment monies from DKM,God is love, Justa motors, care for humanity, Perfect Edge, One in town and others they promised to retrieve for us within six months in office.
To remind them of our share of the One district one factory as well as 29million dollars for the 29 constituencies we have in the region.
To remind them of the roads to be constructed, the schools and the hospitals they promised to built in the region.
To remind them of teacher trainee allowances yet to be paid to our teacher trainees in our various schools in B/A.
Still to remind them of the corruption allegations by Abronye against our Regional Minister for proper investigation.
It will indeed be the appropriate day to remind the President that the Youths in the Brong Ahafo Region are still jobless and waiting for the jobs he promised us.
More importantly to remind our President the Still Light and water bills are still higher than rent in the Brong Ahafo Region and the country at large.
Let’s continue to intensify the publicity of the Unity walk especially on the new date to make the program one of the best in the country.
Unity Heals, Unity Builds and Unity Wins
Together we can restructure the party, restore hope, replan and restrategies for Victory 2020.
2020 is indeed possible but it’s just a matter of time.
