Pooley’s death affected Hearts of Oak simply because they are the best brothers of Asante Kotoko.
The two clubs combined and made their feelings known about how they needed justice for Pooley. They united and demanded massive changes in how things are run in the nation’s football.
Football returned over the weekend with the round 16 stage of the MTN FA Cup played across all the venues except Kotoko’s home fixture against Sekondi Eleven Wonders F.C, which was postponed.
Hearts of Oak faced Access Bank Division One League side, Golden Kick at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. The game looked an easy one for the Phobians but the minnows fought extremely hard and shocked Hearts of Oak with a 4-3 win on penalties.
The result has made Phobia fans go wild.
N.C C PRO Kobby Jones has blamed Pooley’s death for Hearts of Oak’s defeat.
“Pooley’s death caused Hearts of Oak’s exit from the MTN FA cup,” Kobby Jones said.
The cruel murder of Pooley, Asante Kotoko’s staunch supporter has exposed the Ghana Football Association on how careless they are when it comes to security issues across the football grounds in the country.
