The Ghana Police Service has lauded the public for complying and cooperating with them on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
It follows the temporary closure of ceremonial roads in Accra due to the extraordinary meeting held by the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
A statement signed by the Acting Director-General of the Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori, said, “although the announcements for the road closure came at short notice, the police received maximum cooperation from the public during and after the traffic diversion”.
The roadblock was to facilitate the transportation of West African Heads of States who participated in the summit and as a result, parts of Liberation and Independence roads experienced disruption of traffic flow.
However, “they apologize for any undue inconvenienvce that may have been created as a result of the temporary road closures”.
