The West Ada District Police Command has in its custody Isaac Adi Buertey Puplampu, a supposed chief of Hwakpo, for leading hooligans to unlawfully demolish his opponent’s building.
Isaac Puplampu was cast into the Sege police cells, Tuesday, after some police personnel had picked an Intel that the suspect, who was allegedly playing hide-and-seek with them, after disregarding their formal invitation to him on demolition he supervised last Sunday, was at the Ada Traditional Council where he had appeared as a respondent to a suit challenging his legitimacy as the chief of Hwakpo in West Ada.
Just when the hearing at the Traditional Council had been adjourned and Isaac Adi Buertey went out, DSP George Aboagye, the West Ada District Police Commander, and his personnel pounced on him.
However, his counsel pleaded for cool heads, assuring the police that he would send his client to the police, which he did.
With bated breath, DSP Aboagye waited for the suspect and his counsel at the station where as soon as the two reported, the suspect was thrown behind the counter for razing a building without a court order.
During interrogation before his counsel, Isaac Puplampu admitted ordering his boys to pull down his opponent’s building but said he hired only two boys to do that, contrary to reports that 50 boys carried out the illegal exercise.
The police said the suspect would be kept in their custody until he mentions the names and whereabouts of the two persons he claimed he hired to carry out his order.
DSP Aboagye said the two would assist the police to investigate the matter to the letter and possibly charge the suspect and his accomplices for court.
