Former President John Dramani Mahama as a visionary leader whose aim was to achieve an objective of water for all by 2025 ensured he executed several major water supply projects.
In part one of this write up was listed some of these projects, part two is focused on how former President John Dramani Mahama solved the Teshie and Nungua water crisis unimaginable in 2015 that led to Apostle Dr. Kpakpo Sraha profoundly pray “Today we celebrate a great victory over drought and lack of potable water. Today we drink from the sea. We do not only eat the fish God has placed in it”.
TESHIE-NUNGUA DESALINATION WATER PROJECT
The Teshie-Nungua Desalination Water Project is the first-ever project of its kind in West Africa.
After completion it supplied 13.2 million gallons of water per day to about 500, 000 people in these
areas – Teshie, Nungua, the Teshie Military barracks, Batsoona, Sakumono and parts of LaDadekotopon.
Worldwide about 250 million people drink from desalination water supply systems. This project end the era of yellow gallons in the late 2000s known as Kuffour’s gallons and cholera in those enclaves. This project has being a game changer since its inception.
