Nsoatreman FC owner Ignatius Baffour Awuah granted bail in Kotoko fan’s murder case

The Sunyani District Magistrate Court B has today, February 4, granted bail of GH₵500,000 with two sureties to the owner of Nsoatreman Football Club, Ignatius Baffour Awuah.

He was arrested in connection with the killing of a supporter of Ashanti Kotoko known as Francis Frimpong, also popularly called Nana Pooley, at the Nana Koroman II Stadium during a match between Ashanti Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.

The Court presided over by Eric Daning ordered Baffour Awuah to submit his passport to the court’s registry until the court decides otherwise for the first 14 days from today, February 4. The court has also ordered the owner not to travel out of Municipality Sunyani unless with the approval of the court.

Awuah has been charged with “abatement to commit a crime, to wit murder, contrary to sec 20:(1) and 46 of the offenses act 1960, (act 29).”

The case has been adjourned to Monday, February 17, 2025. The third suspect, Agyemang Duah Owusu, who was arrested on Monday, has been remanded into police custody.
