Over 600 needy households cry to ‘Ghana Covid-19 Relief Support Project’ for relief items

Following the crave for food aid by hundreds of households and individuals in the still in force lockdown, the Ghana Covid-19 Relief Support Project has officially partnered with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

The two parties have agreed to work hand-in-hand in line with the Government’s initiative to provide food support for needy people in Accra, Kasoa and Kumasi as part of measures to fighting the spread of the Coronavirus.

Mr. Korsi Senyo,
Project Coordinator of Ghana Covid19 Relief Support together with the of Security and Safety Coordinator of the Project, Mr. David Jawara, met with the Director of Social Protection at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Projection earlier this week to discuss details of the collaboration.

Mr. Korsi Senyo expressed joy for the collaboration which presents an opportunity for Ghana Covid19 Relief Support to reach out to more needy households.

He said there are a lot of families whose daily bread depended largely on their daily movements, and were the hardest hit by the lockdown.

“The Ghana Covid-19 Relief Support is appealing to all NGOs, CSOs, Businesses, Traders, Churches, Mosques and private individuals for support. We need them to support us with foodstuffs such as Rice, Maize, Bread, Oil, Yam, Beans, Gari etc for onwards distribution to the needy.

He said over 600 families had placed a distress call to be supported with food, and every little support from donors count.
