OSP now a ‘clearing agent and crime scene’ – popular NPP activist fumes

Presidential Staffer and social media activist, Frank Mandela Bawumia, has thrown a few jabs at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) following its recent report on the Airbus bribery scandal.

His comments came after the Special Prosecutor (SP), Mr. Kissi Agyebeng, exonerated former President John Dramani Mahama from any wrongdoing in the infamous Airbus scandal. The exoneration followed years of investigation and legal battles.

“The OSP investigation found no evidence that former President Mahama was involved or played any role in the procurement and maintenance of the agency relationship between Airbus and Foster and his associates in respect of the purchase by the Government of Ghana of military transport aircraft from Airbus,” the Special Prosecutor (SP) said in a press conference on Thursday, August 8, in Accra.

In his reaction to the announcement, Mr. Bawumia alleged that the Special Prosecutor cleared the NDC presidential candidate after the two met in the United Kingdom. He further described the OSP as a “crime scene”.

“Kissi Agyebeng clears Mahama of any wrongdoing regarding the Airbus scandal after meeting with him and his brother, Samuel Adam Foster Mahama, in the UK. The OSP has become a clearing agent and crime scene like Kurt Okraku’s GFA,” the activist wrote on Facebook.
