According to Owusu, a resident who spoke to Awake News’ Efo Korsi Senyo, said, the four, who are now deceased were sent to a small scale [ads1]mining site (not galamsey) around 8:30pm yesterday night to dispatch some equipments.
Owuso said according to the site owner, when his four deceased workers were going to the sites, they called him and reported that another vehicle was following them – that is almost mid-way into journey. The site owner then asked them to stop where they were and that he was going to follow them. The site owner after some few minutes could not connect with their their phones.
He then raised an alarm, but the four were not found in the night until this morning when they were found dead in the mining pitch sustaining injuries on their heads, neck, mouth and other parts of their bodies.
He said some of the residents had alleged to have seen one of the Operation Vanguard’s vehicles moving to the direction of the incident last night.
The bodies we are told have been sent to Accra for autopsy.
We are making all efforts to reach the Eastern Regional Police Command on the incident.
