One Constituency One Million Dollars Policy to Start in 2018

Vice President H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has hinted that the One Constituency One Million Dollars policy agenda which became a major political promise by the New Patriotic Party prior to the 2016 General Elections will commence in 2018.

Dr. Bawumia said this when he was speaking to climax the celebration of [ads1]the Kurubi festival by the Wangara tribe in Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo. According to him, the policy will aid in the development of the excluded communities, especially the zongo communities in the country.

He said for the first time in Africa, the NPP government has created the Ministry for Inner City and Zongo Development to speed up development.

The theme for the occasion was “Transforming the Zongo Community, The Rule of the Wangara”. This, according to Dr. Bawumia matches with the NPP government Zongo development policy which is aimed at developing such communities in the country.

“With this we will invest in the number of critical areas, educating and training; improve infrastructure in the Zongo targeting ground, and improve access to water and sanitation, supporting local business and centers of culture and art, community police and security”, the Vice President said.

He also announced government its intention to use the planting for food and jobs policy, to create factories as a way of complimenting the one district, one factory programme.

Dr. Bawumia the National Builders Corps which was recently announced by the Minister of Finance would help employ at least 462 graduates in every district.
