There is tension escalating at the Abeka District Court as family and friends of the late Benjamin Okyere are demanding justice.

According to the family members present, the accused ought to be killed in the manner their family member was killed for justice to prevail to satisfy the principle “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.”

Even before the accused person was brought to the court unhappy friends and families were in court in their numbers clad in red and black and holding posters with inscriptions like “Justice, we need Justice, God is our helper.”

Court Correspondent Muntalla Inusah reports that the case has been adjourned immediately to June 22, 2020, by the Court Magistrate Achamaa Ofosu.

Even though the accused was spotted in the police car at the premises of the court, he did not get down to the courtroom.

He was immediately taken back for quarantine after the court was informed that the accused person is a suspect for COVID-19.

This made the family and sympathizers furious and started chanting.
