NPP Primaries: If you bully your way to go unopposed, then forget 2020 – Gomoa Central MP told

A group calling itself Concerned Supporters of NPP in the Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Regional has cautioned the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Naana Eyiah Quansah they will not support her in 2020 general election if she succeeds in her plan to bully her way to go unposed in the upcoming Parliamentary Primaries this April.

According to the group in a press statement copied Awake News, Mr. Benjamin Baah said they are displeased with “the subtle and gorilla tactics the Constituency Executives and the MP want to hoodwink and blindfold us into letting the MP, Hon. Naana Eyiah goes unopposed in the 2020 elections.”

“Her attempts at coercing the Regional Office of the Party to tow along with her unopposed agenda is being observed keenly. We want to believe our Regional Leadership will rather opt to ensure the right processes enshrined in our Party’s Constitution is duly followed.” – Mr. Baah said

The group is drawing the attention of the MP that “What she and her executives should know is that people made the grounds fertile for her before she won her elections in 2016.”

“We are therefore sounding this warning to her and her cronies that they should not try to bully her way through into going unopposed otherwise we would not support her bid in the 2020 General Elections should she be made to go unopposed.” – He added

CONCERNED SUPPORTERS OF NPP, GOMOA CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY.

PRESS RELEASE

Good morning Fellow Patriots, Press Men and Women. This press conference is organised in view of recent happenings in the constituency.

GOMOA Central as a Constituency came into being in 2012 when it was carved out of the then GOMOA East Constituency/District.

When it was GOMOA East constituency, people invested their time, energies, resources and toiled to contest as Parliamentary Candidates when the party was in power and in opposition.

Even when it was GOMOA East which spanned geographically from GOMOA Dampase to Lome, some people contested before it was divided into two namely GOMOA East and GOMOA Central.

It’s not easy to contest an election when your party is in opposition; especially when the ruling party is not in her second term.

THERE ARE ELECTION YEARS THAT COMES WITH CHANGE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE GOVERNMENT IS IN HER EIGHTH YEAR.

Our major concern which has necessitated this press conference is to display our displeasure about the subtle and gorilla tactics the Constituency Executives and the MP want to hoodwink and blindfold us into letting the MP, Hon. Naana Eyiah goes unopposed in the 2020 elections.

What she and her executives should know is that people made the grounds fertile for her before she won her elections in 2016.

She should be grateful to all and not be an ingrate.

ALL RESEARCHES CONDUCTED ON MPs ACROSS THE COUNTRY HAS SEEN HER PERFORM ABYSMALLY. THOSE WHO ARE DOING WELL IN THEIR VARIOUS CONSTITUENCIES HAVE NOT EVEN CONSIDERED GOING UNOPPOSED.

We are therefore sounding this warning to her and her cronies that they should not try to bully her way through into going unopposed otherwise we would not support her bid in the 2020 General Elections should she be made to go unopposed.

If she wants to incur huge debts before leaving parliament, she should just try it.

Her attempts at coercing the Regional Office of the Party to tow along with her unopposed agenda is being observed keenly. We want to believe our Regional Leadership will rather opt to ensure the right processes enshrined in our Party’s Constitution is duly followed.

The NPP is a democratic party and we, therefore, want an open contest as was done for her in 2014 before she won.

Thank you all for making time to be here.

God bless us all and make our Party (NPP) and the Nation Ghana Great and Strong!
