NPP MPs snubs Alban Bagbin during his Thanksgiving Service

Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Caucus in Parliament are said to have boycotted the Thanksgiving Service of the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

The service was held on January 31, 2021 at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra and according to NDC National Communication Team Member, Dzifa Gunu, all members of the ruling NPP Caucus in Parliament were invited.

He said however, apart from the 1st and the 2nd Deputy Speakers, morning he rest of NPP MPs led by the NPP Caucus Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu boycotted the event leaving only the opposition NDC MPs graced the occasion.

According to him, “Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has clearly demonstrated that he and his group do not recognise Rt Hon Alban Bagbin as a Speaker of the house.”

“Meanwhile day in day out we see some groups visiting the speaker ostensibly to implore on him to be fair and work in the “National Interest” or what they call concensus building.” – he added

He alleged that “The same NPP have sponsored a certain guy to take Bagbin to court challenging his eligibility as speaker”

“If the NDC starts paying them back no one should dare open his mouth seeking to calm us down.” – Dzifa warned

For the first time in the history of Ghana’s forth Republic, parliament splitter between the two major political parties with equal representation with the NDC which is in opposition having one of their own elected as the Speaker of Parliament.

President Akufo-Addo has since the December 7, 2020 elections which results is being challenged by the opposition leader John Mahama openly call for a consensus building adding that the outcome of the parliamentary election proves that Ghanaians want both the NDC and NPP to work together for National Interest.

On Sunday, a thanksgiving church service was organised for the Speaker of our Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Bagbin at the Christ the King Church, he invited the entire Parliament of Ghana (MPs).

Sadly the NPP guys refused to attend the service, only the first and second deputy speakers joined the NDC MPs for the service

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has clearly demonstrated that he and his group do not recognise Rt Hon Alban Bagbin as a “LEGITIMATE” Speaker of the house.

Meanwhile day in day out we see some groups visiting the speaker ostensibly to implore on him to be fair and work in the “National Interest” or what they call concensus building.

The same NPP have sponsored a certain guy to take Bagbin to court challenging his eligibility as speaker.

If the NDC starts paying them back no one should dare open his mouth seeking to calm us down.

The NPP through Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu have clearly demonstrated that they do not want a TEAM game but an NPP game and the NDC will play accordingly.

The other uncomfortable truth about this whole thing is that Bagbin is seen as a Northerner and so they will humiliate him.

Well Ghana is going to be so sweet k3k3
