NPP General Secretary Threatens to Call Out “Non-Performing” Bono Region Appointees

Justin Frimpong Kodua, General Sec, NPP

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has threatened to publicly name appointees from the Bono Region who are disserving the party.

He stated that some appointees from the region are out of touch with the grassroots, which he believes could jeopardize the party’s electoral prospects in the area.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Kodua wrote: “Feedback from my tour of the Bono region shows that some appointees have lost touch with their base. Don’t force me to start mentioning names; do the needful.”

The General Secretary of the NPP is currently on tour in the Bono Region, assessing the party’s preparedness for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

During his visit, he engaged with key stakeholders of the party across various constituencies in the region. He also held meetings with NPP Parliamentary Candidates, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), and members of the Council of Elders.

Mr. Kodua further called on stakeholders of the party to take charge of the campaign at the grassroots level.

“…assume ownership of the campaign at the grassroots by reaching out to electorates in the towns, communities, villages, markets and places of worship to whip support for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and the Party’s Parliamentary Candidates,” he pleaded.
