The Amenfi Central National Democratic Congress, (NDC) has revealed that the Electoral Commission and the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) are allegedly in a cohort to disqualify the duly elected parliamentary candidate of the NDC, Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe.

A press release from the Amenfi Central NDC Communications Secretariat remarked that the information on the disqualification came through intelligence picked from the corridors of the Electoral Commission.

The NDC states that they “are reliably informed that Dr. Bossman Asare and Fuseini Adonis Kweku in connection with the NPP are planning a diabolical means of disqualifying our candidate from contesting the upcoming parliamentary elections in Amenfi Central”.

“Madam Joana went through the right process of re-election supervised by the EC after the leadership of the NDC at National level annulled the first primaries that initially elected her.

“This action of Party Leadership was based on reliefs sort by petitioners who thought she wasn’t validly elected.

“It is instructive to note that contestants for the first primaries all participated in the second primaries that eventually re-elected Madam Joana.

“Interestingly, Mr. Adonis, the District Electoral Officer of EC, was the one who supervised the process of electing our candidate.

“Our candidate, Madam Joana, successfully filed her nomination with the EC without any problem whatsoever and was subsequently introduced to the general public by the EC Returning Officer for Amenfi Central as the NDC validly filed parliamentary candidate.

“We are therefore surprise with the turn of events being perpetuated by Dr. Bossman Asare just to do the bidding of NPP” the party emphasized.

The NDC finally cautioned the EC saying “We will not allow self-serving EC officials to undermine our democracy just because they want NPP to win at all cost. Never!”
