NPP allegedly busing Burkinabes to Pusiga Constituency for limited voter registration

????????????????????????????????????

The Parliamentary Candidate (PC) of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Pusiga Constituency in the Upper East Region, Alhaji Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, has been accused of bringing in people from neighbouring Burkina Faso to register as voters in Ghana.

Alhaji Osman Rahim, the Pusiga NDC chairman, revealed to the media that the NPP PC was allegedly busing residents of Sankanduri, a small town in Burkina Faso, to the registration centre to be registered as voters.

According to the NDC chairman, all attempts to prevent the foreigners from entering the country proved futile as the NPP PC insisted on their entry. Hon. Rahim also claimed that their attempt to stop the foreigner escalated into an open confrontation between them [Hon. Rahim and the incumbent MP, Hon. Laadi Ayii Ayamba] and Alhaji Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba.

The NDC Upper East Regional Deputy Communications Officer, Benjamin Atuasi, in a statement to the media, called for the immediate intervention by the Electoral Commission (EC), security services and the media, to prevent the illegalities being perpetuated by Alhaji Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba.

Meanwhile, the Communications Director of the NPP in the area, Emmanuel Awuinimi, shot down the allegations, stating that the people being tagged as foreigners are Ghanaians residing in an area between Togo and Burkina Faso
