Hon. Samuel Kwadzo Wuadi, a former District Chief Executive of the Akatsi South Municipality, has commenced a tour of the limited voter registration centres in the Akatsi South constituency to observe and engage with residents, first-time voters, and party activists.
The Electoral Commission is undertaking a limited voter registration exercise to enable eligible but unregistered individuals to register before the December 7 elections.
During his tour, Mr Samuel Kwadzo Wuadi visited various registration centres in the Municipality, engaging with citizens and observing the registration process.
He took advantage of the opportunity to urge the branch executives of the National Democratic Congress to mobilize eligible voters for the registration. Kwadzo Wuadi urged officials of the Electoral Commission to ensure efficiency. He emphasized the importance of citizen engagement, the promotion of democratic values, and the mobilization of support for the NDC in preparation for the crucial 2024 elections.

Meanwhile, many observers have criticized the exercise which began on Tuesday, May 7 and is scheduled to conclude on May 27, 2024. This is due to technical failures and others that have slowed the process at some centres.
Japhet Festus Gbede, Assemblymember for Wuxor, Have and Sremanu Electoral area, one of the many critiques, has alleged that the challenges are intentional efforts to disenfranchise eligible Ghanaians in the stronghold of the NDC.
Day one of the registration in the Akatsi South Constituency was marred by network and technical difficulties, causing frustration among the hundreds present to register.
