NIA sets new fees for Ghana Card registration effective May 1

The National Identification Authority, NIA, has announced a new fee schedule for Ghana Card acquisition and replacement services. A statement issued to that effect contained the new fees for the various services offered by the NIA relating to the ECOWAS card, known as the Ghana Card.

According to NIA, the “adjustments to fees and charges for registration services in line with the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations, 2023 (L.I. 2481)” was passed by Parliament in February 2024.

The new Ghana Card fees will “come into effect from Wednesday, 1st May 2024,” the NIA announced.

Per the new fees, first time registration at the district and regional offices remains free but the premium service will attract GHS310. A replacement of the Ghana Card will attract GHS125 while premium service will attract GHS420.
