[ads1]Mr. James Gunu after a successful vetting at the party’s regional office led his team to the Zongo to join the Muslim community for the blessings of the Imam and his elders.
The former DCE, said that on his assumption of post as the DCE for the Akatsi North District, his first home was Ave-Afiadenyigba, where he stayed with the Muslim community for a number of years before he moved to Ave-Dakpa, the district capital. Stating further that, he has since adopted the Zongo as a second home, and a people he identify himself with.
“This was my first home as a DCE. I’ve developed a strong and healthy relationship with the people here. Even after leaving office, I’ve always been here, and it’s only prudent I move here to first announce my candidature and ask for the blessings of the Almighty Allah, before I hit the ground”.
The former DCE, who is also called as Alhaji Mustapha, by the Zongo folks promised to advocate for the decentralization of the Ministry of Inner Cities and Zongo communities to the Regional and District levels in order to meet the needs of the Zongo Communities.
According to him, the impact of the new ministry created by the NPP government is been hanging far from the very people for which it is created.
In his opinion, the next NDC government would ensure a more rapid and pragmatic approach to issues that affect the Zongo Communities by decentralizing the Ministry, a course he would fight relentlessly.
The District Chief Imam, Mr. Alhassan Zakari, and his people took turns to offer du’a (prayers) for him and assured him of their support.
