The National Democratic Congress, NDC, on Tuesday afternoon spotted at the Osu Mantse Palace to join hands with the Osu Mantse, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, to celebrate the Homowo festival.
The NDC also presented bags of Rice, water, assorted drinks and an undisclosed amount of money to the Osu Mantse.
The delegation had a fruitful discussion with the Osu Mantse who is also the President of Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and President of Osu Traditional Council.
The Osu Mantse, Nii Okwei Kinka in his address to the delegation led by the National Chairman of the party, Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo expressed his dissatisfaction over the former President and the flagbearer of the NDC John Dramani Mahama inability to join him during this year’s Homowo.
The Osu Mantse urged all political parties to ensure peace before, during and after the 2020 general election.
According to him, elections have come and gone hence the need to ensure peaceful election 2020 and see it as something that we are use to.
The Osu Mantse said everyone has his or her own political party but that doesn’t warrant any violence should one losses election.
On his part, Hon. Ofosu Ampofo, the National Chairman of the NDC apologize on behalf of John Mahama adding that situation beyond his control prevent former President Mahama to lead the delegation.
He assured the Osu Mantse that the delegation will send the message to the former President Mahama.
Hon. Ampofo further assured the Osu Mantse that the NDC will embark on peaceful campaign, devoid of insult and comments the may denigrate the peace of the nation.
The delegation included; Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Mr Add Coker, Hon. Joshua Alabi, Sylvester Mensah, the Deputy Regional Organizer, Hon. Gambo Zamatu, Hon. Leeford Quashie, Hon. Sherley Ayitey Mrs. Anim Addo former Ambassador to Italy among others were there to pay home to the Osu Mantse, Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI.
