The decision of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to attend the NPP’s National Delegates Conference held at Koforidua over the weekend was very unfortunate and shows their lack of understanding and appreciation of democracy, Danquah Institute has said.
In a statement, it said, “The NDC has shown, by their action that they are sour losers, and are not interested in deepening our Democratic culture.”
For the 8 years in opposition, the NPP attended all organized functions of the NDC when they were invited. The NDC’s failure to attend the conference and show solidarity as was done by the other minority parties underscores their unpreparedness to help in making our democracy thrive, and to show respect to the governing NPP–a party legitimately elected by the people.
The NDC must be a bit patriotic and submerge their interest under the collective interest of the nation by respecting our democracy. Their behavior is an affront to democracy and must be roundly condemned.
