NDC is moving backward in Northern Region; abolish the camps – NDC activist

Issah Alhassan

Issah Alhassan, NDC Youth Activist

Social media and a youth activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Issah Alhassan is calling on the party to as a matter of importance abolish camps or factions within the party in Northern Region.

This according to Mr. Ahassan is moving the party backward instead of forward but was quick to add that the situation cannot be blamed on the party’s regional, constituency, or branch leadership but on individual members.

“Coming to the substantive issue, as far as I’m concerned there is no denying fact that NDC in the Northern Region is retrogradation. Meaning NDC is moving backward instead of moving forward. In other words, NDC is declining in N/R.” – He said

“We can not attribute this unfortunate incident to any Regional, constituency, ward, or branch executive, of course, there would be other external factors but internally, it is you, me, and him whose actions and inactions attribute to it. As far as I’m concerned, it is caused mainly by the so call FACTIONS/CAMPS we have created within the party.” – he explained

He is urging party members to put aside those individual affections and disaffections for members during internal elections and rather concentrate on the lady goal of the party in winning the next elections.

His call is coming as the largest opposition party is preparing to start the process of electing new officers for the party.

A LETTER TO ALL MEMBERS OF NDC IN THE NORTHERN REGION, FROM TOP LEADER TO THE PARTY FOOT SOLDIER ON THE REASONS WHY FACTIONS/CAMPS SHOULD BE ABOLISHED

Dear sir/Madam
I like to, first of all, extend greetings to every Regional Executive member of our party in the Northern Region. We owe them much respect and gratitude us, followers. I urge you to kindly read with an independent mind just as I’m writing with an independent mind without fear or favor.

Coming to the substantive issue, as far as I’m concerned there is no denying fact that NDC in the Northern Region is retrogradation. Meaning NDC is moving backward instead of moving forward. In other words, NDC is declining in N/R.

We can not attribute this unfortunate incident to any Regional, constituency, ward, or branch executive, of course, there would be other external factors but internally, it is you, me, and him whose actions and inactions attribute to it.

As far as I’m concerned, it is caused mainly by the so call FACTIONS/CAMPS we have created within the party.

The question I ask now is what causes the FACTION? and how does it attribute to the declining nature of our party?

FACTION is caused during our internal elections which goes on in every Region and in fact in all the political parties. No one can deny you from supporting a candidate of your choice during internal elections, it is your right to do so. But most often than not, some people refuse to work with the elected candidate if their preferred candidate did not win.

On the party of the leaders or the position aspirants too, the losing candidate may decide not to work with the winner, and also decide to be doing his or her own things with his supporters. Or the winner may also decide not to work with the losing candidate.

The negative implication of the FACTION is that, when the party is in power, the less privileged FACTIONS who also work for the party victory are denied certain opportunities which may include appointments, contracts among others. Some may even lose their already secure jobs.

When this happens, party members belonging to these FACTIONS begin to get fed up. Some will refrain from politics and be spreading bad about NDC. Others may even join different political parties so on and so forth.

And the unfortunate thing is that we don’t even know that we are the same people who cause those problems but we rather want to put the blame on others.

My advice is that let’s try to accommodate each other and work together at least for the party sought.

#Abolish the CAMPS/FACTIONS
#Long live Ghana
#Long live NDC
#Long live NDC N/R
