United States-based Ghanaian politician, Sekou Nkrumah, son of Ghana’s founding father Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has endorsed John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the December 7 polls.

In a social media post, Sekou stated that both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NDC have fallen short of the expectations of Ghanaians. However, he was quick to add that the NDC remains the better option, given the current economic challenges caused by the incumbent government.

“But Ghanaians deserve a change for the better, and at this material moment NDC is a better option to NPP,” he wrote.

The politician and author also offered some advice to the independent candidates contesting the December 7 presidential election.

According to him, Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, Alan John Kyerematen, and other independent candidates can only make an impact in elections if they have a strong coalition of independent lawmakers in Parliament.

“I will advise those who want to build an alternative third force to work their way to parliament as independent candidates!

“Forget the independent presidential candidate for now, it can only be possible if there is a strong independent parliamentary presence! If that is possible,” Sekou Nkrumah suggested.
