NDC flagbearer race: Nurideen Iddrisu, Goosie Tanoh file nominations

Businessman, a philanthropist, politician and financier of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC), Mr. Nurideen Iddrisu and Mr. Goosie Tanoh, have officially filed their nomination at the party’s headquarters to contest the NDC’s flagbearership race.

This brings to seven the number of persons who have filed to contest for the party’s primaries slated for Saturday, January 26, 2019. Tuesday, December 18, 2018, was the last day for the submission of forms.

Five other aspirants including, Joshua Alabi, Alban Bagbin, Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah and former President John Mahama, have also filed their nomination forms.

Mr. Nurideen Iddrisu form was received by a team of national executives led by the party’s National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

After receiving the forms, Mr. Nketia said: “On the surface, everything appears to be in order so I will proceed to sign to indicate that the party has officially received the forms.”

Mr. Nurideen assured that he will abide by the party’s rules and regulations during his campaign by preaching peace and unity to ensure that the party units after the flagbearership election.

Mr. Nurideen further assured that the grassroots of the party is his topmost priority adding that he will empower the youth and will bring all hands on deck to ensure victory for the party in 2020 when giving the nod.

The vetting of the aspirants will be on the 21st and 22nd of December, 2018, with balloting to follow immediately after that.

Any appeals from the aspirants will be permitted between the 22nd and 24th of December, 2018, and the election is to come off on January 26, 2019.

However, one of the aspirants, Stephen Atubiga, could not submit his forms, as he announced his withdrawal to support John Dramani Mahama.
