A contender in the just ended NDC presidential candidate contest, Sylvester Mensah has resigned to the decision of the delegates suggesting that they have never been wrong in their choice.
John Mahama emerged victorious from among 7 contestants in a win that has been described by many as landslide.
Close to 300,000 delegates took part in the primaries across all 275 constituencies which led to the victory of the former President.
The former President whipped six other contenders in the flagbearer race with 213,443 votes, constituting 95.24% of the total votes cast across.
All other candidates shared the remaining of the votes constituting less than 5% of valid votes cast.
In a post on his Facebook wall, Sly Mensah conceded that the decision of the delegates is overwhelming and emphatic.
He, however, reiterated that the “zeal and zest with which I entered the NDC Flagbearership contest are still alive. The embers are still smouldering”.
The Former NHIA CEO has pledged to support the party ahead of the 2020 elections and called on the party members to contribute their quota to the fight to regain power.

The zeal and zest with which I entered the NDC Flagbearership contest are still alive. The embers are still smouldering but the statement from the delegates is loud and deafening.
Our delegates have never been wrong. There is no reason to think they’re wrong this time.
I commend the former President, John Dramani Mahama, for the early lead and eventual victory. Indeed, it is victory for the NDC and victory for democracy.
The chapter of internal party campaign and election is now over and a new one beckoning. I commend all members of TeamSly and thank all promoters and sympathizers for the support in these difficult times.
Now we have a flagbearer and a leader for the 2020 general elections. Let us all unite and support the leader to focus on the impending 2020 general elections in the supreme interest of our dear party.
Ghanaians are looking up to the NDC for leadership. We MUST not fail them!
