NADMO issues flood alert for Bagre Dam spillage

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has issued a flood alert in the Northen Region following the spillage of the Bagre Dam.

A 25-member team headed by its Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Abu Ramadan have traveled to the North to assess the damage of the spillage.

According to SONABEL Authorities of Burkina Faso, Managers of the Bagre Dam, the spillage has become necessary due to the 81 percent increase in the water level.

As a result, residents around the Black and White Volta have been cautioned to move to higher ground to avert any flood deaths.

NADMO has shored up its personnel in the affected areas to help residents relocate and help with rescue operations.
