NABCO was designed for votes; it was a 419 policy – Fifi Kwetey

NABCO Recruits

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, says the Nations Builders Corps (NABCO) programme was a 419 policy designed for votes and nothing else.

Speaking at the launch of the NDC Youth Manifesto today Monday, August 12, Hon. Kwetey noted that policies under the current government are not well thought through policies that targets at supporting the youths.

The launch, which took place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), forms part of youth-centered activities to commemorate the 2024 International Youth Day on August 12.

“Anybody at all can have the policies. Over the last eight years, we have seen policies that have been unveiled. How many of you remember NABCO? What has happened to that” Fifi Kwetey quizzed.

“Because it was nothing but a scam and 419 policy, it was a policy designed just for votes. The difference between us and them is that we think about policy first for progress before votes”.

According him “It’s sad that this country on the verge of 2009 when the NDC came into office, we had young people who were trooping back to this country… because they saw the hope of a country that was again looking towards building back.

“But unfortunately, over the last eight years, we have seen nothing short of the collapse of the economy of this country and the loss of hope and despair of our young people,” he emphasized.

He revealed the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama is committed to introduce policies that shall restore hopes and purpose back into the lives of Ghanaian youths in 2025.
