N/R: “Operation Calm Lives” another avenue to loot and share – Group fires Minister

Salifu Saeed, Northern Regional Minister

A youth group calling itself ‘Concern Youth of Tamale’ says the ‘Operation Calm Lives’ that was launched two days ago by the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Salifu Saeed to help protect lives and properties in the Tamale Metropolis was just a funfair.

[ads1]According to them, the minister has a questionable character and cannot lead the various security operatives to calm down the high rate of crimes in the Northern Region.

The group is also accusing the minister of hiding under criminals and vigilante groups to create disturbances and disunity among the people.

Addressing the press conference at Tamale yesterday, member of the group, Mr. Hadi Alhassan said the minister, Alhaji Salifu Saeed only initiated the programme (Operation Calm Lives) to drain the government’s coffers.

He accused the minister who happens to be the Chairman of the Regional Security Council of being selective, stating that the thirty joint security personnel who have been deployed to carry out the ‘operation calm lives’ are his favorites.

He said the ‘operation calm lives’ is only going to be a one day wonder, and an avenue to loot and share.

Mr Alhassan alleged that the Northern Regional Minister sponsored a youth group in Tamale, Dagbon Malimi
(DAMAZ) to demonstrate against the Abudu and the Andani royal families in Dagbon which nearly resulted in a new conflict between the two feuding factions.
