Muslims to march against LGBTQI+

Muslims across the country are lacing their boots and placards to pour out on the streets of Ghana against LGBTQI+.

Albeit Parliament has before it the Private Members’ Bill seeking the Legislature to criminalize LGBTQI+, the Ashaiman Muslim Community says it has gone ahead of Parliament to stir the anger in Ghanaians against to strongly stand up against such ungodly practice.

“The demonstration of wild anger by all well-meaning Ghanaians across the country is the surest way to inform our parliamentarians and government that we are united against LGBTQI+. It is irreligious and not the Ghanaians’ custom and practice,” Imam Abass Abdul-Karim Umar, spokesperson for the Ashaiman Muslim Community, explained at a heavily attended news conference in Ashaiman to court the support of all religious organisations and civil society groups to remain loud in their fight against LGBTQI+.

He said, Muslims across the country are constantly preaching against homosexuality and its related ungoldy sexual relationships in the mosques and Arabic schools, however, they needed to go public to remind Ghanaians that the fight would only be over when Parliament finally passes the bill to criminalise LGBTQI+.

Making references from the Holy Qur’an, which are similar to the Christians’ Holy Bible references of God’s abhorrence of same sex relationships, Imam Abass Abdul-Karim Umar explained that human beings cannot claim they understand human rights more than Allah who created humankind.

He warned that LGBTQI+ shall never find its place in Ghana today and never.

He wondered why in Europe and America, polygamy is a criminal offence but LGBTQI+ is not, “and for us, that’s the most irresponsible thing for any human race to champion.”

Receiving loud applause from the crowd, Imam Abass Abdul-Karim Umar said, Ghana cannot and will not fall for this irresponsible and satanic relationship “and we are ready to shake the country to first and foremost, tell the LGBTQI+ community that Ghana is not a haven for them. Secondly, we will shake the country to tell Parliament that we are closely watching them as the bill before them awaits their loud ‘yeah…yeah'”.

He stressed that, the Ashaiman Muslim Community pays tribute to the eight gallant Members of Parliament (MP) for their strong public opposition to LGBTQI+.

“All the other MPs must publicly declare their position on this subject because we are going to, as part of our campaign against LGBTQI+, advise the electorate in all the constituencies to vote against any MP or aspirant who supports same sex relationships.

“The electorate do not have to give their votes to reckless persons to become their legislators or leaders,”.

The Ashaiman Muslim Community challenged President Akufo-Addo to go on national television to declare Ghana’s opposition to LGBTQI+ to follow similar public opposition by his predecessors.
